Functional window shutters (Outdoor, wood)

Classic craftsmanship, made to measure by hand in the traditional way. Our traditional shutters are tailored entirely to your individual, exact measurements. They have a strong, sturdy construction with a beautifully rounded top, built to be mounted with functional hardware so they can easily be opened and closed.

Functional window shutters

Our functional shutters protect effectively against strong sun, cold Nordic winds and prying eyes, while adding an extra layer of security and burglary protection.

Material & premium lacquer for the Nordic climate

  • High-quality pine: As standard we recommend and use heartwood pine. It is by far the most resistant material to changes in humidity and temperature, which makes it perform best in our Nordic climate. (Oak, larch or meranti available on request.)
  • Weather-resistant 3-coat system: The shutters are delivered untreated or finished in any NCS or RAL colour (as well as various glaze systems). Our finish is a professional 3-coat system, spray-applied. It is extremely weather-resistant, durable and has excellent UV protection for outdoor use.

Hardware and accessories

To make your shutters work perfectly we offer a wide range of hardware and accessories – hinges, cross plates, pivot screws, shutter holders, storm hooks, spacers, locking systems and bolts, special hardware and hardware for sliding shutters. We are happy to help you choose the right hardware based on shutter model, façade type and the conditions of your house.

  • Standard: Black galvanised steel.
  • Optional: Yellow galvanised steel or stainless steel.
  • Warranty: Lifetime warranty on hardware and fixings with normal use and correct installation.

As standard, our functional shutters are mounted on the façade with Fentro hardware in black powder-coated steel: pivot screws, hinges, holders and a locking system.

If the shutters are to be used as decoration (fixed to the façade), our stainless steel mounting kits 7046 and 7047 can be used.

Price calculator

Calculate functional window shutters

Add the windows of your house one size at a time – width and height including the frame, and how many windows have that size. Each window gets two shutters, very narrow windows one. As standard, the shutters are mounted on the façade with Fentro hardware.

Your windows

Windows narrower than 600 mm get one shutter, all others two. The shutters are calculated with a 20 mm overlap at the sides and top, a 10 mm gap between the shutters and 10 mm clearance above the window sill. How the dimensions are calculated (PDF)

No windows added yet. Enter the size and number and click “Add” – one size at a time until all the windows of the house are in.

Options

Façade type
Rough price per shutter. The final price depends on the mounting method and the parts you choose. Kit 7047 is used for shutters over 160 cm.
Standard mounting – façade mounting with Fentro hardware

As standard, our functional shutters are dimensioned for façade mounting with Fentro hardware. It is the most common mounting method and gives a stable, reliable and easy-to-install solution for both rendered and timber façades.

Frame mounting

Frame mounting is available on request and is mainly recommended for larger projects. Because hardware, fixings and dimensions need to be adapted individually, it is handled as a project-specific solution.
